Helping Florida’s Businesses and Professionals Recover
Many west coast businesses saw a decline in their revenue in 2010, or had to restructure to remain afloat, due to the trickle-down effects of the BP oil spill. Through a class action Settlement Program, BP has acknowledged these economic harms, and is working to provide financial relief to Florida businesses with valid claims.
Most industries are eligible under the terms of the settlement.
The Settlement Program that received final approval on December 21, 2012, has fundamentally changed who qualifies for economic relief, and how companies are evaluated and compensated for the direct or indirect economic losses they suffered. However, most business owners and professionals simply do not know that they are specifically included within the terms of the new settlement agreement, and that they may well have valid claims.
The fact is, almost every type of business has been defined as eligible, but, only those who learn of the new Settlement Program and are evaluated will be compensated for their losses.
Qualifications are based largely on your geographic location. In Florida, there are three geographically-defined Zones that run along the state’s west coast. (Include graphic of zone map). Each zone has different requirements with respect to how businesses may qualify for economic relief. Our team of attorneys and financial professionals will assist in gathering your financial documents to evaluate if a valid claim exists.
